CHAPTER SIX:
                                THE DINNER
                                AND THE KISS

Dinner was served in the dinning room. We all sat at the huge oak
table. Grey sat at the the head of the table. He had me sit beside him.
I felt nervous because people were staring at me.
What we had for dinner was very strange. Grey and and a handful of
guests had what looked like tomato soup, while I and the rest of the
guests had clam chowder. The conversation was also strange.
The conversation started when dinner was served. It started out
like this: "Grey. Something must be done about Hunter. She is killing
us," a young man in his teens said.
"I am taking care of it," Grey said sternly.
I sat back with a confused look on my face. Grey leaned over and
whispered, "This is business. Hunter is trying to take over our
company by killing off the small businesses first." I nodded and smiled. I
knew exactly what he was talking about.
"She destroyed Victors business. Yours maybe next Grey, she must be
stopped," the young man said.
"Nick, I said I am taking care of it!" Grey shouted, hitting the
table with his fist. The table shook on impact.
"Why is she doing this to us?" Nick asked.
"Maybe you people did something to her. Something that she can
never forgive," I told them, speaking up.
They all looked at me quietly as if I had some great knowledge that
they wanted. "How would you know?" Nick asked bitterly.
     "I don't. I was just giving a suggestion," I replied. Nick's eyes
narrowed and he nodded. That's when I knew he suspected that I knew
Nick was a vampire and that I was Hunter and he hated me for it.
We finished dinner quickly. The conversation turned into idle chat
which I was not apart of. My mood was now dark and somber. I ate quietly
not talking to anyone.
After dinner, I needed air I wondered onto the balcony. I took a
deep and welcoming breaths. The air chilled my lungs as I took in the
air. It felt good.
Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to face
Nick. "You know what I am. Don't you?"
     "I don't understand," I said innocently.
Without warning, Nick grabbed my throat and began to choke me. "I
think you do understand," Nick said fangs bared. "If you didn't
understand before, you understand now. You know to much. I will have to
kill you."
Nick expose my throat. His head drew back like a cobra about to
strike I closed my eyes and braced my self for the pain.
Before Nick could plunge his fangs into my exposed flesh, Grey burst
onto the balcony. He grabbed Nick and threw him across the balcony. "She
is mine! Mine to do with as I please!" Grey screamed.
Nick scrambled to his feet. "She is trouble Grey. You'll see. She
will be the end of us." Nick hurried into the house leaving me with
Grey.
"Are you all right?" He asked as he held me by my shoulders.
"I'm fine. He only choked me," I said, feeling uneasy by the
closeness.
     "Are you sure?" He asked.
I pulled away from his grasp. I turned around my back facing him "I
told you I am fine!"
Grey came up behind me and put his arms around me. "Thank God
Jenice. I thought he was going to kill you." Grey turned me around so I
could face him. "I was so afraid that he was going to kill you. I don't
want to lose you again."
I looked up into his gray eyes, a feeling of dejavu washed over me.
"I know you."
"Yes," he whispered as he pulled me close to him. "You know me and
I know and love you dearly."
"How is this possible?" I asked.
"Fate, destiny, a love so deep that it will not be denied," he said
calmly.
"I don't understand. We just met. How can you love me?"
"My drear. We have met before. We met a long time ago. We fell in
love. You died in my arms but not before you promise to come back to me.
Don't you remember?" Grey said with sadness in hi eyes.
A strange realization washed over me. "Your talking about my dream.
How do you know about my dreams? I have told no one about them."
"That was no dream m'love. That was real. As real as my love for
you." Grey's hand came up to my cheek. My breathing became faster as he
lightly touched my cheek. My heart began to pound fiercely. His hand
moved slowly to the back of my head. Grey pulled me close to him, his
lips met mine. I closed my eyes and opened my mouth. Grey's tongue slid
in. I teased his tongue as he tired to catch mine with his.
As we kissed, I suddenly remembered everything that Grey and I went
through......
