CHAPTER FOUR:
THE DOCTOR
AND THE RESCUER

When I awoke, I found myself in a huge room. As I took a quick scan of this huge room, I saw it was painted a dark blue, there were two doors, facing opposite of each other. On one end of the room was a desk with a lamp and a computer on it. The bed had dark blue silk sheets to match the room. There was a chair beside my bed, in it sat a old man. "Hello. I see that you're finally awake," he said. "My name is Doctor Dalamare Reese."

"My name is Jenice Daywalker. How did I get here?" I asked.

"You were in an an motorcycle accident. The owner of this hose found you, brought you here and called me," he said. "How did he know where to find me? And how hurt am I?" I asked, confused.

"Well. Mr. Kail was taking his nightly walk when he came a crossed you. As for the second question, you sprained your ankle so you'll be on crutches for a few days. You also cracked a couple of ribs and bumped your head. you might have a slight concussion so we'll have to watch you for a while. You were lucky that you were wearing your helmet and only sustained minor injuries," the doctor answered. I nodded tiredly, taking it all in.

The doctor looked at me and said, "You look tired. I'll leave you so you can rest. Mr. Kail will be along shortly to check up on you," he said, standing up. "Good day. I'll be back later to make sure you're not having any complications from your injuries." After that was said, the doctor left, closing the door behind him.

I settled back down into bed and fell into a deep, dream filled sleep.

The dream was different this time. Instead of being in a castle I was running through a grassy field. I was running towards the man with gray eyes. The same man that was in my other dream.

His arms outstretched as I fell into them. "M'love. Did Ash follow you?" Grey asked.

"I don't think so. I lost him in the woods. Beloved? What does Ash want?" I asked breathlessly.

"Ash wants what I have. You my darling. He wants you, but worry not love, I will protect you," he said.

Tears filled my eyes and I buried my face in his chest. "What if Ash kills you? I will die without you!" I cried.

Grey placed an hand under my chin and lifted up my head so I could look into is eyes. "M'lady. Trust me. No matter the outcome I will always return to you," he said.

    "And I you."

He pulled me close to him. I closed my eyes as I wrapped my arms around his waist. Grey's lips descended upon mine. I parted my lips to let his tongue slide in. I felt safe and warm as he explored my mouth with his. After a while, he lowered me to the soft grass....

I woke up with a strong sense of peace and fulfillment. All of the sudden, there was a knock at my door.

    "Come in!" I called.

The door slowly opened as a tall young man entered. He had short black hair, pale skin. I couldn't see what color his eyes were because he had dark sunglasses on.

He walked in, sat down in the same chair the doctor occupied and took my hand in his. "Hello. It's good to see you finally awake. My name is Grey Kail, I am the owner of this mansion. And your name is?" he asked.

"Daywalker. Jenice Daywalker. How is my bike?" I asked.

"Your bike can be repaired, but it's going to take three weeks. Besides, the doctor said it's going to take a while for your injuries to heal. You can stay here until then," Grey told me.

"Why are you helping me?" I asked.

"Because I want to and because I can," he said. "Now then, the bathroom is through that door," he said pointing to the opposite door he came in from. "There are fresh cloths in the closet. I'll leave you now so you can rest. In three days I'll be giving a party. If you are well enough you may attend." With that he left.

I sat there in wonder. Who was this guy? Why did he really save me? There was something about him that I couldn't put my finger on, but I was sure I could find out.
